Open

Open Water canoeing is the use of an open canoe, or Canadian canoe as it is also known, or kayak to paddle on lakes, lochs or the sea.  It can mean being some distance from a shore and may be open to the effects of weather and tide.   As with all types of canoeing it is an adventurous activity with an element of risk. It should only be undertaken after appropriate training in the use of the boat and weather conditions has been done.
