The Club will hold its annual October Event in the region of North Yorkshire this year. There will be planned river trips on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, led by a qualified river leader. Every ability level will be catered for. However, you do not have to paddle every day. This is a beautiful part of the world and you may wish to do a bit of paddling, some walking, biking or just exploring. Accommodation is planned to be in a good standard bunk house with and excellent rate from trip adviser. Details to follow once the booking is in place. I am confident the places will go fast so please contact Neil Busby to book your spot.
The Grantham Canal Society are hosting a discovery day on Sunday 8 October 2017, which Newark Canoe Club will participate in by offering canoeing experiences to visitors. Volunteers to assist would be most welcome. Contact the Chairman firstname.lastname@example.org.
The East Midlands RDT will run an open racing event on Thurlby Lake. Everyone welcome either as a participant or as a spectator
Welcome buffet for Club members and a prize draw for a Desperate Measure Voucher. Have to be present to win it! Chance to say hello to the Committee, discuss your paddling development and trip to moving water.
The July trip will be to North Wales and there will be a club led trip on both days.
Leaders will be Dave G and Neil and if anyone wishes to stay on the same campsite
as them, details will be posted on the club Facebook site. You can then make your
own booking with the site, which will probably be in Bala. Alternatively, you can
stay anywhere you want or drive up on the day and meet at the put-in. This will be a
relaxed weekend and a good opportunity to socialise with other members. Look out
for details on the club Facebook site.
